Hepworth, Dame (Jocelyn) Barbara
(10 ene. 1903, Wakefield, Inglaterra–20 may. 1975, St. Ives).

Escultora británica. Su obra, en un principio naturalista, se tornó abstracta en la década de 1930, cuando esculpió piezas rigurosamente geométricas de bordes rectos. Mientras la escultura de Hepworth maduraba a fines de las décadas de 1930 y 1940, se concentró en el problema del juego cruzado entre la masa y el espacio. A fines de la década de 1950 ya era internacionalmente famosa y recibía muchos encargos de importancia, entre ellos, Single Form (1963), un monumento a la memoria de Dag Hammarskjöld para el edificio de las Naciones Unidas de Nueva York. Junto con Henry Moore, se convirtió en líder del movimiento moderno en Inglaterra y una de las escultoras más influyentes de mediados del s. XX.
